In the first quarter of 2022, the leading travel and local apps in Costa Rica exhibited diverse trends in downloads and active users. According to Sensor Tower data, here’s a closer look at the performance of these top 5 apps: Airbnb, Google Earth, Find my Phone - Family Locator, Booking.com: Hotels & Travel, and KAYAK: Flights, Hotels & Cars.

Airbnb experienced a modest fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 4.9K in late December and ending at around 2.7K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting with about 33.7K and closing the quarter at 31.5K.

Google Earth saw a slight increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 2.5K in late February. Active users for the app increased steadily from 13.9K to 15.2K over the quarter.

Find my Phone - Family Locator showed significant variation in revenue, peaking at $575 in the last week of December. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 1.7K and dropping to 988 by the end of March. Active users peaked at 3.4K in mid-February but declined to 2.2K by the end of the quarter.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 2.3K and varying slightly to end at 1.7K. The app's active users saw a minor decline from 62.3K to 51.2K during the same period.

KAYAK: Flights, Hotels & Cars experienced a steady decline in weekly downloads, starting at 1.1K and dropping to 943 by the end of March. The app's active users also saw a decrease from 4.5K to 4.3K throughout the quarter.
